Our Story

We started with some sweet tea and blues music in a 2nd floor apartment with a cheap offset smoker on a wooded balcony, my neighbors were sure I would burn the place down. Then Jeanne and I smoked a 12-pound turkey breast and a full pan of our now famous beans,mind you, this was a meal for just her and I. We proceeded to feed all the neighbors in the complex. The neighbors never complained about our “fire hazard” smoker after that. In fact, they looked forward for that smoker to be going. Our passion for cooking really became alive back then. Every weekend she and I, some sweet tea, blues and a new recipe.

Times were great. The Blackhawks were all the talk, just like when I was a kid. I pulled out my skates and started playing hockey again.  A great bunch of guys who were like family. Since we have fed family our BBQ so many times, why not the team?  So, we brought our BBQ to the locker room after a game. It was a hit! Anytime the team made it to the Championship game, we would bring BBQ after the game.

Win or lose we were having a party for a champion. Our team parties became legendary. Feeding rink staff, other teams even the refs.

Hat Trick BBQ Company was born.

Amazing what started in that apartment, then to a stinky locker room, to taking over the ice rink anytime we brought in food. To start this journey with Jeanne, to be able to share our passion for BBQ with friend’s family and now you. Handcrafted BBQ is our Business. Enjoy!!!!
